What you need to know
-
Arriving on Time: Lessons may be back-to-back. If you’re more than 5 minutes late, your lesson will be shortened. Early arrival is welcome—feel free to use the studio for theory or other music activities. The front gate will be open; if not, call or text me. The man-gate on the left can also be used.
-
Practice: No magic amount—establish a habit! Beginners may practice simple exercises or explore sounds. Find a schedule that works for your family, whether one longer session or several short sessions throughout the day. Regular practice is key to success.
-
Hygiene: Fingernails should be trimmed and hands clean. Wash hands before lessons if needed.
-
Holidays & School Days Off: No lessons unless agreed in advance. Missed lessons due to my absence can sometimes be made up.
-
Studio Updates & Communication: Most communication is via text, music journals, or my website.
-
Recitals: Informal recitals (students only) roughly every 2 months. Formal recitals with parents at Christmas and year-end.
-
At the Studio: Students waiting for lessons should stay in the studio, sit quietly, and respect the space as part of my home.
-
Pets: We have friendly pets. Let me know of allergies or concerns. Keep doors closed to prevent pets from escaping, including the man-gate
